Austin and Ty Dillon made an appearance at my local dirt track here in Chattanooga, TN. The Southern Nationals Series brought the two NASCAR drivers back to dirt,After a heavy shower in the Afternoon the track needed much attention but fans and employees alike were saying this would be a fast race! The track record that lasted for 4 years until Austin and his American Ethanol Late Model went on the track. Austin turned a lap of 12.980 on the 1/3 mile Clay Surface. Austin would go on to finish 3rd in the Feature and Ty would have a rough night finishing with his gauges all the way gauged out. After Ty's' heat race he had major radiator issues after one of the drivers did the slide job on him but not leaving enough room to clear Ty. Many thought Ty was done for the night but no Ty and his team fixed the car and put it last in the Feature with a Provisional.All in All it was great racing and great to meet Ty and Austin once again! The qualifying used is what NASCAR needs to adopt just my opinion but it honestly leveled the playing field and made it very interesting to watch! Thanks Ty and Austin for coming to town!
