AJ Allmendinger - Grilling Up Good Finishes

When it comes to AJ Allmendinger you see an great driver overall. That is especially being shown in 2015. After a very successful 2014 with a win at Watkins Glen that landed the 47 team in the Chase. In 2015 the team started off in Daytona with a fresh look on racing. They know that their best oppurtunities come at tracks like Daytona and Talladega where the odds are even no matter who you are. Watkins Glen and Sonoma are also even playing field for drivers like AJ who have a road racing background and at times that shows at tracks like at The Glen where many NASCAR Regulars.
At Daytona the #47 Kroger Chevrolet he started the Budweiser Duels in the 13th Place but a crash relegated AJ to 23rd place finish. AJ would have to start in the 40th place in the Daytona 500. He would work his way up to a 20th place finish which is impressive coming from 40th place.
When the team got to Atlanta with momentum from finishing 20th in the Daytona and that showed with Top 10 finishes coming in the next 2 races at Atlanta and Las Vegas. Phoenix would show that when you race hard and put in hard work you will have good finishes. A 20th at Daytona, 7th at Atlanta, along with a 6th at Las Vegas and a 17th at Phoenix.
The West Coast Swing would look good for AJ and the Team. Fontana came and AJ was looking to get his 5th straight Top 20. With a dueling racing surface and a racecar that wouldn't work with the team and it would put them in the 34th place ending consecutive Top 20's.
From Martinsville to Michigan the team had a best finish of 14th at Kansas. Along with 3 DNF's AJ looked to Sonoma to be the helper and land JTG back into the chase.
When AJ got to Sonoma he landed the 47 on the pole and would have his best shot of making the chase. AJ Had an electrical issue behind the wheel and had to go behind the wall to fix it relegating him to 37th place. The team and AJ knew they still had Watkins Glen.
From Daytona to Watkins Glen the team placed in the Top 15 twice once at Loudon and another at Pocono. Watkins Glen came and this was their best shot . Another pole at Watkins Glen but presure got to AJ and the Car lost power during one of the cautions. This would be the end of AJ Allmendinger's shot at Watkins Glen.
From Michigan to Richmond the team would not finish inside the Top 20 which would ultimately eliminate them from the chase.
Though eliminated from the Chase they would not give up on racing. From Chicago to Martinsville the team would clock 3 Top 25 finishes. Qualifying Last Weekend in the 3rd Position showed that the team should have speed going into Texas and even 2016.
Look For AJ Allmendinger to go to victory lane a few times next season as I will certainly be seeing him in the Top 15 more in the next 3 weeks! (Koelle, 2015)
