The NASCAR Source Playlist - Talladega

Every Year I go to a Race I like to have a CD made of songs I think go well with that certain Race. Talladega is different because the Fall Race can differ in moods from The Spring Race. Of Course This will be the 2nd Race In which 4 will be eliminated like Dover Earlier. Only normally this race is the Wild Card Race. You never know who'll be left to win if there is a big crash.

Talladega by Eric Church

The Funny thing about this song is that it wasn't originally  supposed to be a NASCAR song but if you listen to the  lyrics you will notice that being at Talladega is about being  with friends and your loved ones. The last time I went to Talladega was in October of 2014 and I went with my best friend and my mom, two very important people to me and its just an amazing experience watching something you love with people you love. Embrace the moment and the memories. Over the 10 years I've been around this sport this song intensifies in meaning.

Heavy Is The Head by Zac Brown Band feat. Chris Cornell

A new song added to the list of Songs. Someone will leave Kansas Sunday with a Heavy Head. A thing that could be good but could be a very bad thing. As we saw with drivers like Dale Earnhardt Jr, Jimmie Johnson went into Talladega in a must win situation. They have also used this song on The MLB Postseason Coverage TBS is doing and I feel it fits Talladegas' postseason coverage.

Timber by Pitbull feat. Ke$ha

This song was brought in last season as the lyrics to it really fit the different rounds in the NASCAR Chase For the Sprint Cup Series Championship.
"Swing your partner round and round
End of the night, it's going down
One more shot, another round
End of the night, it's going down
Swing your partner round and round
End of the night, it's going down
One more shot, another round
End of the night, it's going down"
The Rounds would be talking about the Contender and Eliminator.

B.I.G By X Ambassadors

What better song for Talladega than Big By X Ambassadors. It's the biggest track on the NASCAR Circuit. Some drivers will also need to do big things to get to where they move on to Martinsville!
"I been working night and day
I'm going berserk and I'm going insane
But I say "hey, it's a new day"
"Hey, I'm on my way"
I wouldn't stay, but if you made me
Bring on the next phase"
Some drivers will need to work night and day moving to Talladega and some will be going insane!

Centuries by Fall Out Boy

This song needs no explanation on why its on this playlist.
"Some legends are told
Some turn to dust or to gold
But you will remember me
Remember me for centuries
And just one mistake
Is all it will take
We'll go down in history
Remember me for centuries
He-e-e-ey ya, oh he-e-e-ey
He-e-e-ey ya
Remember me for centuries"
One Mistake at Dega is all it takes for you to be eliminated. For Jeff Gordon he could either turn to Dust or To Gold for what he does in Dega as it will be his last time around Talladega.

Energy by Shinedown

This song fits this race because of the fact that it has a fast paced action sound to it.
"So break your silence and tell them
Who you are.
'Cause they're all witness to a shooting star."
This line could be for drivers like Landon Cassill, Ryan Blaney and Michael McDowell could be the spoilers in the Chase at Talladega.

Survival by Eminem

You have to survive in order to make the next round. The Big One ALWAYS looms around and you can ask Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr about their situation with the Big One last year.
"Wasn't ready to be no millionaire, I was ill-prepared
I was prepared to be ill though, the skill was there
From the beginning, it wasn't 'bout the ends
It was 'bout busting raps and standing for something..."
This line fits the new chase syestem of how it used to not matter at the end because used to drivers would clinch before Homestead or Atlanta in the older days.

My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark by F.O.B

Hopefully you won't light em up unless you win the race.
"Be careful making wishes in the dark, dark
Can't be sure when they've hit their mark
And besides in the mean, mean time
I'm just dreaming of tearing you apart"
Could we see a fight at the end of 500 miles? Will Tempers over flare?

What Makes A Good Man by The Heavy

If you help someone move into the next round or even help someone get eliminated to help a teammate get to the next round some will consider you as a good man and others will view you as a cheater. Last season Michael McDowell took the blunt of a crash instead of Brad Keselowski taking it and possibly eliminateing him instead of him going on and winning the Geico 500.

In Time by Mark Collie

This song is from The Punisher and it really highlights the things of the last race of the Contender Round. Brings up scenarios from last season Dale Earnhardt Jr could be in a must win scenario. Some could just have to start and it really all depends on what happens in Kansas.
"And in time, all things shall pass away
In time, you may come back someday
To live once more or die once more
But in time, your time will be no more"
This line talks about those drivers like Dale Earnhardt Jr and others who will come back to Talladega in the same situation as they were last season. Who will move on and Who Will Be Eliminated.

Last Shot by Politics and Assassins

This song is from the WWE Films movie Legendary with John Cena. This ultimately fits the last race of every round if you havent already locked yourself in. That last race could be you last shot at the championship.
"It's your last shot
It's your last shot
Don't you know when you got that, they're all wrong
It's your last shot
It's your last shot
Leave everything off they got"
Don't Leave anything on the table and prove to them you are the BEST!

This Is Not A Test by Toby Mac Feat Capital Kings

Drivers need to recognize that this is not a test. This race is the real deal and if last year was any question a driver can dominate a race and still lose and get eliminated.
"We’ve only got one shot
Gonna to take it now
Goin’ all in, gonna make it count
Won’t look back, gonna set my eyes
‘Cause there ain’t no practice runs in life "
This line would be perfect for a green white checker. You gotta go or go home.
