Rain Could Dampen Dover Racing......

The NASCAR Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series come to the Dover International Raceway for the last race of the Contender Round of the NASCAR Chase For The Sprint Cup Series. 3 will be officially eliminated and not eligible for the rest of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Chase. No Championship. Now the only issue is a Little thing called Hurricane Joaquin may become the chases own Wild Card. The Hurricane is forecasted in one of the recent forecasts to hit Delaware head on. This could be an issue as Dover does not have lights and the sun set is planned for 6:40 pm eastern time on Sunday and well with the race scheduled to begin at 2:45 rain and you need to count in the Track Drying into this and the fact that the race has 400 laps which means they would need to complete at least 200 laps for the race to be considered complete  The Race could be pushed  to Monday and possibly as late as Wednesday if Necessary. The NSCS Haulers are expected to park at The Charlotte Motor Speedway Thursday evening.  As of Thursday afternoon, Joaquin has strengthened to a category 4 hurricane. The updated National Weather Service forecast for Dover calls for a 90% chance of rain Friday, 60% Saturday, and 60% Sunday. If you are heading to Dover we here at The NASCAR Source wish you all safe travels! (Koelle, 2015)
