CampingWord.com 500 at Talladega Preview!

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series comes to Talladega Superspeedway for the CampingWorld.com 500. The last race of the contender round and the last shot to move into the Eliminator Round. Joey Logano is the Only Driver that can take a Vacation at the Wonderful Talladega Superspeedway! Below Are The Storylines going into this weekends race!

12 Enter Talladega With Hopes Of A Title - 8 Leave

This Sunday only one driver can breathe easy as Joey Logano has won the last two races in the Contender Round having him as a lock going into the Eliminator Round. Former Dega Winners Matt Kenseth and Dale Earnhardt Jr both are in must win situations. Drivers like Jeff Gordon who will be making his final Talladega start Is not in a Must win situation but more of a Don't wreck. The Question will remain will teammates help teammates? Will Joey Logano help Brad get to the chase? Only One Way to Find Out.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Flirting With History

Dale Earnhardt Jr won at Talladega in May and will be looking to win Restrictor Plate Race #3 of The Season. Dale Earnhardt Jr is flirting with the Record Book his father Wrote. Dale Sr is one of the very few drivers who have won 3 of the 4 Restrictor Plate races in one season. With a win, he would join the duo along with his Father, and Pete Hamilton as the only drivers in NASCAR history to win three of the four races run at NASCAR’s “Super” superspeedways - Talladega and the Daytona International Speedway - in a single season. Earnhardt Jr. finished third in the season-opening Daytona 500, but won the GEICO 500 at Talladega in May after leading 67 of 188 laps and the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona in July to set up his shot at racing history. In case you haven't heard the Earnhardt's are good at Talladega.

Will Payback Be Coming?

Despite being in a must win situation Matt Kenseth still has some bad blood between him and Joey Logano. Last week on one of the final laps Joey Logano got a little rowdy with Matt sending him spinning and to the back ending Kenseth's shot at locking himself into the Eliminator Round. I doubt we see anything between these two because at Talladega if you seek revenge on other drivers other drivers will seek revenge the following weekend at Martinsville or even Texas. If Matt does not make the Eliminator Round expect Joey not to make the Final 4 if Matt has anything to do with it.

Will An Underdog Steal A Win From A Chaser?

Ryan Blaney finished a best 4th place finish at Talladega in May and almost stole the victory from Dale Earnhardt Jr. Can Ryan Blaney steal one from the Chasers and Send the Wood Brothers Back to victory lane? Don't forget Landon Cassill either Landon almost stole the win from Brad Keselowski last fall and I'm looking at a few drivers like McDowell, Kvapil, Labonte or even Hornish to steal a victory and send Dale Earnhardt Jr and Matt Kenseth unexpectedly out of the chase. Will we see another David vs Goliath Victory?

Rapid Fire Qualifying Returns To The Show

Jeff Gordon won the only time we have used The New Rapid Fire Qualifying on the Superspeedways as Daytona Qualifying was Clouded out (Oh wait sorry Rained Out) and that sent Michael McDowell and Ryan Blaney home. With little to no chance of Rain Ryan Blaney is in High Company but Michael McDowell is in a different situation, in a situation like he was in May. Michael will have to show his Daytona speed on his own. Along with Timmy Hill both will have to race their way into the show.
