My opinion about the Racing and how the sport is going is as below. Remember these are my opinions.
Rule Packages
You will always have those certain drivers who are always on the inside looking out and you will always have those drivers who just don't have the speed each and every week. I really don't know how you could level the playing field but there are areas where you could attempt to. These new aero packages aren't failed attempts at leveling the playing field but they aren't making the race finishes any better and personally as a race fan i'd much rather see a close race at the end while having close racing throughout the race like it was in the 2000's- 2006 which how ironic was when the COT was brought in. Now don't get me wrong I am utterly thankful for the safety innovations its just after it was brought in something changed and it has yet to be fixed but honestly I don't know how it could be changed.
Qualifying
Qualifying is something NASCAR has been working on or at least attempting to work on since 2013. Numerous things have changed and numerous things haven't changed. We've gone from Single Car Qualifying to Group Knockout Qualifying to Rapid Fire Qualifying and I think the saying of Don't Fix whats not Broken comes into this equation at a few tracks. Tracks like Atlanta, Bristol, Dover should stay single car qualifying I'd also say Daytona 500 Qualifying should stay single car also because of the fact that drivers like Michael McDowell, Michael Annett, and drivers like that have an oppurtunity to race their way in on the annual Duels. Talladega, Watkins Glen, Sonoma, and Daytona(July) should all be Knockout Qualifying because of the draft really levels the playing field.
Owner Points, Attempts, Provisionals, and Rain Outs
I think NASCAR needs to eliminate the Attempts syestem because I feel that would really level the playing field and make sure everyone is even! The provisional's should be adjusted in where the 5 past champions should be locked into the show because they should be competitive each and every week and they have a reason to be locked into the race. Lets say get to Qualifying on Friday and it is pouring rain. Of course its gonna be rained out and suddenly teams that were fast in first and second practice are headed home because the attempts just aren't there this is when i think the owners points system should come in also why not run qualifying on Saturday if scheduled on Friday and Sunday if it was scheduled on Saturday I mean we're gonna be at the track anyway so why not qualify! Also we're gonna start taking 2nd practice instead of 1st practice because the cars have been tweaked and could possibly be back to their prime racing condition.
